The state government and the Patwari Union have reached a consensus on the ownership scheme, with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav pledging to issue the required orders to accelerate its rollout.

The Madhya Pradesh government’s ownership scheme, aimed at granting land‑holding rights to small farmers and landless workers, has reportedly secured the support of the state’s Patwari Union. Sources indicate that both sides have arrived at a working agreement that could remove longstanding administrative bottlenecks.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, speaking at a brief press interaction, said the cabinet will now issue the necessary orders to operationalise the scheme. He emphasized that the government is committed to providing full cooperation to patwaris, who are key officials in land record maintenance.

Analysts expect that the clarified directives will speed up the registration of beneficiaries and reduce delays that have plagued earlier phases of the programme. If implemented swiftly, the scheme could benefit thousands of marginal cultivators across Madhya Pradesh.

The government has set a tentative timeline for the next steps, including the issuance of official notifications within the coming weeks and the formation of a joint monitoring committee with patwari representatives to oversee progress.
