The Madhya Pradesh government has approved a ₹1,547 crore investment to set up dairy processing facilities, aiming to boost the state’s dairy sector.
Madhya Pradesh’s cabinet gave the green light to a ₹1,547 crore proposal aimed at expanding dairy processing capacity across the state. The approval, announced by the state’s dairy department, is part of a broader effort to modernise the dairy value chain.
Officials said the funds will be channelled to establish new processing plants and upgrade existing ones, which should increase the volume of milk that can be turned into cheese, yoghurt, butter and other products. The move is expected to improve farm‑gate prices for dairy farmers and create a range of direct and ancillary jobs.
The investment aligns with the state’s ongoing dairy development programmes that seek to attract private players and enhance export potential.
