In Maheshwar, the divine appearance day of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra was celebrated with immense devotion and adherence to Vedic traditions on the occasion of Ashadh Shukla Purnima. The festivities saw a significant turnout of devotees participating in the sacred rituals.
Key ceremonies performed during the celebration included a 'Mahabhishek' (grand ritualistic bathing) of the deities using water from the holy Narmada river. This was followed by 'Gajavesh Shringar', a special adornment of the deities in elephantine attire, and a concluding 'Maharati' (grand lamp offering).
Following the elaborate celebrations, the deities will now be moved to the 'Anasar Gruha' (sick room), where they will rest for a period of 15 days, as per tradition.
