The Primary Health Centre at Koilwar, Bhojpur district, has been upgraded to a Community Health Centre, now equipped with 30 beds and approved posts for specialist doctors.

The Primary Health Centre (PHC) located in Koilwar, a town in Bhojpur district of Bihar, has officially received the status of a Community Health Centre (CHC). The upgrade was announced by state health officials and marks a significant step in expanding primary care infrastructure in the region.

Under the new CHC designation, the facility will house 30 inpatient beds, a capacity that was previously unavailable at the PHC level. In addition, the health department has approved a range of specialist doctor posts across various medical categories, aiming to broaden the scope of services offered to the local population.

Health administrators expect that the expanded infrastructure and specialist staffing will reduce the need for patients to travel to distant district hospitals for routine and specialized care. However, officials emphasized that the success of the upgrade depends on the timely deployment of qualified doctors to fill the newly created positions.

Local residents have welcomed the development, expressing optimism that improved access to quality medical care will enhance health outcomes in the area. The health department has indicated that recruitment drives are underway to staff the CHC as soon as possible.
