On November 3, Delhi's overall Air Quality Index rose to 331, while several monitoring stations recorded levels above 400, indicating hazardous pollution.

The Delhi Pollution Control Committee reported that the citywide Air Quality Index (AQI) reached 331 on November 3, placing the capital in the "severe" category. This marks a sharp rise from the previous day's reading, which hovered in the moderate range.

Data from the continuous monitoring network showed that stations in areas such as Anand Vihar, Najafgarh and Mayur Vihar recorded AQI values exceeding 400, a level classified as "very severe" and hazardous for all population groups.

Health officials have issued advisories urging residents to limit outdoor activities, especially those with respiratory conditions, and to use N95 masks when venturing outside. The state government has also announced the activation of additional air‑purifying measures, including the deployment of mobile scrubbers and the temporary suspension of certain construction activities.

Experts attribute the spike to a combination of winter temperature inversion, stagnant wind patterns, and heightened vehicular and industrial emissions. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely, with daily updates expected from the pollution control board.
