A 36‑member delegation from Kerala, caught in severe flooding in Nepal, was rescued and has now reached India without casualties.

A contingent of thirty‑six travelers from Kerala was caught in the sudden flash floods that have battered parts of Nepal this week. Local rescue teams, aided by Nepalese authorities, managed to evacuate the group from the inundated area and transport them to a safe zone.

The tourists, who were on a cultural tour of the Himalayan region, were escorted to the border town of Birgunj where Indian officials facilitated their swift return. All members were reported unharmed, and no injuries were recorded during the rescue operation.

Officials from both countries praised the coordinated effort, noting that timely communication and the use of boats and helicopters were crucial in averting a tragedy. The group is expected to resume their journey home after a brief medical check‑up.

The incident underscores the growing vulnerability of travelers to extreme weather events in the sub‑continent, prompting calls for better flood warnings and emergency preparedness for tour groups venturing into high‑risk zones.
