Kashmir IGP Conducts Security Review Ahead of J&K Film Festival

The Inspector General of Police in Kashmir convened a security briefing to evaluate potential risks associated with the Jammu and Kashmir Film Festival. Senior police officials, district administrators and representatives of the festival organising committee participated in the meeting.
Officials examined crowd‑management, traffic‑control and emergency‑response protocols, stressing close coordination with municipal bodies and the state disaster‑management authority. Plans to deploy additional personnel at key venues and entry points were also discussed.
The review comes as the festival, which showcases regional cinema and draws artists from across India, prepares to open next week. Police assured that heightened vigilance will be maintained throughout the event to safeguard attendees and participants.
No security incidents have been reported so far, and authorities are confident that the preventive measures will mitigate any potential threats.
