The state government has pushed back the e‑KYC deadline for ration cards to 10 November, giving beneficiaries additional time to complete verification.
The Karnataka government announced that the electronic Know‑Your‑Customer (e‑KYC) deadline for updating ration cards has been extended to 10 November, allowing more time for households to comply. The original cut‑off date, set earlier this year, was moved to accommodate delays reported by many beneficiaries.
E‑KYC is a digital verification process that links a family’s ration card to their Aadhaar number, ensuring accurate entitlement under the Public Distribution System. The move is expected to reduce duplication and improve delivery of subsidised food grains.
Beneficiaries can complete the e‑KYC online through the state’s official portal or at designated Common Service Centres. Officials have urged people to update their details promptly to avoid disruption of supplies.
State authorities said the extension reflects a commitment to inclusive coverage, noting that millions of families still need to complete the verification. The new deadline aims to ensure that all eligible households receive their entitled subsidies without interruption.
