Chief Minister Shivakumar has called on pro-Kannada groups to stay away from IT firms in Karnataka, pledging to address concerns over hiring bias. The move follows rising tensions between language‑based activists and the state's technology sector.

Chief Minister D. Shivakumar addressed the Karnataka government’s stance on the growing friction between pro‑Kannada activists and the state’s IT industry. In a statement released earlier today, he urged the groups to refrain from targeting IT firms, citing the need to maintain a conducive business environment.

Shivakumar also promised that the government would investigate allegations of hiring bias that have been raised by several tech companies. He said the state would take “necessary steps” to ensure fair recruitment practices.

The call comes amid reports that some pro‑Kannada organizations have been protesting against perceived discrimination in the hiring processes of Bangalore’s tech giants. Shivakumar’s remarks aim to calm tensions and reassure investors that Karnataka remains a stable hub for technology enterprises.
