The returning officer has rejected challenges to the nominations of BJP’s Prasannchand Mehta and Congress’s Rajendra Singh Solanki, clearing the way for a direct contest on September 25.
The returning officer overseeing the Jodhpur mayoral election has formally dismissed all objections filed against the candidatures of Prasannchand Mehta of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Rajendra Singh Solanki of the Indian National Congress. The decision, announced earlier this week, removes any legal hurdle and confirms both candidates on the ballot.
With the nominations now cleared, the two major parties will face each other in a head‑to‑head contest scheduled for 25 September. The election will determine who becomes the next mayor of Jodhpur, a key municipal position that influences local governance and development projects.
