The Jammu and Kashmir administration has cleared a ₹29.88 crore project to construct a multi‑level car parking complex at Jewel Chowk in Jammu.
The Jammu and Kashmir government has given the green light to a ₹29.88 crore multi‑level car parking scheme at Jewel Chowk, a busy commercial hub in Jammu. The project, approved by the state’s development authority, aims to address the chronic shortage of parking spaces in the city centre.
Designed to accommodate several hundred vehicles across multiple floors, the facility will incorporate modern safety features, automated ticketing systems and dedicated zones for two‑wheelers and disabled users. Officials expect the new structure to ease traffic congestion and improve accessibility for shoppers and commuters alike.
Funding for the venture will be sourced from the state’s infrastructure budget, with construction slated to begin in the next quarter. The authority has set a target to complete the parking complex within 18 months, after which it will be handed over to the municipal corporation for operation and maintenance.
