Jharkhand has agreed to establish its first nuclear power plant, with 14 memorandums of understanding signed to support the project.
The Jharkhand government has announced plans to construct its first nuclear power plant, marking a significant step toward diversifying the state's energy mix.
In a landmark move, 14 memorandums of understanding were signed with a range of stakeholders, including national nuclear agencies, technology providers, and financial institutions, to facilitate the project.
Experts say the new plant will boost Jharkhand’s electricity supply, support industrial growth, and help the state meet its long‑term energy demands.
The next phase involves securing regulatory approvals, finalizing the site, and initiating detailed feasibility studies before construction can begin.
