Jharkhand to Form Expert Panels for Safety Review of 59 Dams

The Jharkhand government has decided to set up expert panels to review the safety of 59 major dams in the state. The panels will be composed of engineers, hydrologists and safety specialists from both national and state agencies. The move comes after concerns over aging infrastructure and recent incidents at several water bodies in the region.
