Voting for 38 assembly seats in Jharkhand's final phase of the 2024 elections has begun, with the JMM's Kalpana Soren expressing confidence in a win.
On Thursday, voters across 38 constituencies in Jharkhand turned out to cast their ballots in the final phase of the state’s 2024 assembly elections. The polling centres opened at 7:00 a.m. and will close at 7:00 p.m., following the schedule set by the Election Commission.
The 38 seats include key battlegrounds that could determine the balance of power in the 81‑seat assembly. The Janata Dal (United) and the Bharatiya Janata Party are contesting the seats alongside the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and other regional outfits.
JMM’s Kalpana Soren, who is contesting from the Jamshedpur West seat, has publicly stated that she believes her party will secure a majority of the contested seats. Her confidence reflects the party’s strong performance in earlier phases of the election.
Observers note that voter turnout is expected to be high, as the electorate has shown keen interest in the outcome of the state’s political future. The Election Commission has deployed additional security and polling staff to ensure a smooth voting process.
