The Union government has allocated ₹154.38 crore to Jammu & Kashmir under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS), with 848 development works already finished.
Under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS), the Union government has earmarked ₹154.38 crore for Jammu & Kashmir. The allocation is aimed at accelerating local infrastructure and community projects across the state.
A total of 848 development works have already been completed, ranging from road repairs and water supply upgrades to the construction of schools and community centres. These projects are expected to improve connectivity and public services for residents.
The MPLADS funds are disbursed through elected MPs, who identify priority needs in their constituencies. In Jammu & Kashmir, the allocation reflects the central government’s commitment to support the state’s reconstruction and development after recent challenges.
