From November 6 to 9, Jaipur will enforce a traffic plan that blocks vehicle entry into Parkoṭe and other market areas after 6 p.m., with parking prohibited on main roads.
Jaipur municipal authorities have announced a special traffic arrangement for the Diwali period, covering November 6 to 9. The plan, which takes effect from 6 p.m. each evening, aims to ease congestion in densely populated market zones as shoppers flock to celebrations.
The core of the scheme prohibits any motor vehicle from entering Parkoṭe market and several adjacent areas. In addition, parking on the main thoroughfares surrounding these markets will be banned for the duration of the restriction period. Traffic police will monitor compliance and direct violators to designated holding areas.
Commuters are advised to use alternative routes and public transport to reach the market districts during the evening hours. The authorities expect the measures to reduce crowding, improve safety, and ensure smoother movement of pedestrians throughout the Diwali festivities.
