Jaipur school where CJP protest turned violent slated for demolition

The Rajasthan government has ordered the demolition of the Jaipur school that became the site of a protest by the Chief Justice of India and a subsequent attack.
The state administration in Rajasthan announced on Monday that the school in Jaipur where the Chief Justice of India staged a protest will be razed. Officials said the demolition will begin after the building is cleared of students and staff, with completion targeted before the end of the year.
The school gained national attention last month when the CJP visited to highlight concerns over educational standards, only to be met with a hostile crowd that turned violent. Several protestors assaulted the judicial delegation, prompting police intervention and a temporary shutdown of the institution.
Rajasthan's education minister, Ashok Gehlot, said the decision reflects the need to restore safety and confidence in the local schooling system. He added that a new facility will be constructed on a different site to ensure uninterrupted learning for the children currently enrolled.
Parents and teachers have been asked to cooperate with the demolition schedule and to relocate to nearby schools that will accommodate the displaced students. The government has pledged financial assistance for the transition, but some community members remain uneasy about the rapid timeline.
