The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has decided to support the Vijay-led TVK government in Tamil Nadu to prevent the imposition of Governor's rule, according to party national president Kader Mohideen.
IUML national president Kader Mohideen announced that the party passed a resolution to withdraw from the DMK alliance, citing concerns over indirect Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) control in Tamil Nadu.
Mohideen stated that the decision to support the TVK government was communicated to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. The primary motivation behind this move is to prevent the state from falling under Governor's rule.
The press conference in Chennai followed a general body meeting of the party where the resolution was finalized. The IUML's stance indicates a strategic shift in state politics aimed at countering perceived external political influence.
