IPS officer Bhanupratap's wife, Pooja, staged a sit‑in outside Patna Police Headquarters, pressing authorities to allow her to meet her daughter and reunite with her family.

Patna – On Thursday, Pooja Bhanupratap, the spouse of senior IPS officer Bhanupratap, set up a peaceful sit‑in outside the Bihar Police Headquarters. She cited prolonged separation from her family and the inability to see her daughter as the primary reasons for the protest.

The demonstrator approached Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, presented her grievances, and sought immediate intervention to facilitate a family meeting. She affirmed that she would continue legal proceedings if her request is not addressed promptly.

Police officials confirmed that the matter is being reviewed, but no official statement was released regarding a timeline for any possible family reunion. The protest remained non‑violent, with no arrests reported.

Local residents and a few media personnel gathered at the site, observing the protest without disrupting traffic. The incident underscores the personal challenges faced by senior police officers and their families, often hidden from public view.

Authorities have urged the parties to resolve the issue through legal channels while ensuring that law‑and‑order duties are not compromised.
