Indore Metro Launch Delayed by Three Months Due to Greenfield Corridor Event

🗓 20 Jun 2026, 09:01 AM 👁 1

The much-anticipated launch of the Indore Metro has been postponed by approximately three months. The delay is attributed to the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for the Greenfield Corridor and the Union Minister's schedule.

The commencement of metro train operations in Indore has been rescheduled, with the launch now expected to take place after a three-month delay. The initial plan for the metro's operational start was impacted by the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for the Greenfield Corridor.

Further contributing to the postponement was the unavailability of the Union Minister, whose schedule did not align with the planned inauguration. Consequently, the metro will undergo a fresh safety audit before its services can commence.

This new safety assessment is a prerequisite for obtaining the necessary clearances, paving the way for the metro trains to finally run on the tracks. The revised timeline indicates operations will likely begin in approximately three months.
