The Indore Development Authority (IDA) announced plans to develop a residential colony on the land in front of the Regional Park, a site previously used for student rallies and temporary markets. Political events and markets will no longer be permitted on the site.
The Indore Development Authority (IDA) has revealed that it will develop a residential colony on the plot in front of the Regional Park, a space that has long hosted student rallies and temporary markets.
Under Scheme‑97 Part‑2, the authority plans to construct a new housing development, turning the open ground into a structured residential area.
The decision means that political gatherings and market stalls will no longer be allowed on the site, effectively ending the long‑standing tradition of using the ground for public events.
IDA officials said tenders for the project will be issued shortly, and the construction is expected to begin once the bidding process is complete.
