Indore's municipal corporation has removed encroachments from Talavali Chanda pond, demolishing 14 permanent shops and a 100-meter wall on Monday.
In a significant move to reclaim water bodies, the Indore Municipal Corporation on Monday carried out a major anti-encroachment drive at the Talavali Chanda pond. The operation saw the demolition of 14 permanent shops that had encroached upon the pond's area.
Alongside the shops, a substantial 100-meter long concrete wall was also razed as part of the drive. This action is a part of the broader campaign by the civic body to free the city's ponds from illegal occupation and restore them.
The municipal authorities undertook the demolition to ensure the preservation and accessibility of the Talavali Chanda pond, aiming to prevent further unauthorized construction and encroachment on public water resources.
