Police in Devas have detained chemical dealer Amaan Kasliwal for allegedly supplying lethal chemicals to the main accused in the toxic liquor scandal.

Devas police announced the arrest of Amaan Kasliwal, a chemical trader based in Indore, in connection with the ongoing toxic liquor investigation. According to officials, Kasliwal provided the lethal chemical used to adulterate the liquor to the primary suspect, Ajay Rathore, for a payment of Rs 6,000.

The arrest follows a series of raids after several deaths were linked to contaminated alcohol in the Devas district. Investigators have recovered evidence suggesting the chemical was deliberately introduced to increase the potency of the illicit brew.

Authorities said the case remains under active investigation, and further arrests may follow as they trace the supply chain. Kasliwal has been taken into custody and will appear before the local magistrate for questioning.

The incident highlights growing concerns over the illegal liquor trade in Madhya Pradesh, prompting state officials to urge stricter monitoring of chemical sales and distribution channels.

Police continue to urge the public to report any suspicious activity related to the manufacture or sale of unlicensed alcoholic beverages.
