Indian Railways will operate two pairs of special trains connecting Bhopal’s Rani Kamalapati station and Jabalpur with Gaya for the Pitru Paksha Mela 2026. The services are scheduled for September and October on fixed dates to ease pilgrim travel.
The railway ministry has announced the operation of two pairs of special trains for the upcoming Pitru Paksha Mela in 2026. One pair will run from Rani Kamalapati station in Bhopal and the other from Jabalpur, both destined for Gaya in Bihar.
These services will be available during the months of September and October on pre‑determined dates, aiming to accommodate the large number of devotees who travel to Gaya for the ancestral rites performed during Pitru Paksha.
The initiative is part of Indian Railways’ routine effort to manage increased passenger traffic during major religious gatherings. The exact timetable and stoppage details will be released by the concerned railway divisions in the coming weeks.
