The Indian Army and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology have officially denied reports that Chinese troops had crossed 50 km into Arunachal Pradesh, labeling the claims as misinformation.
Rumours circulated online that Chinese troops had crossed a 50‑kilometre stretch of the India‑China border in Arunachal Pradesh, sparking concern among security analysts.
The Indian Army released a statement on its official channels confirming that no such incursion had taken place and that the reports were baseless.
In a joint press release, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) also clarified that the information had been spread through unverified social media posts and had no factual foundation.
Both agencies urged the public to verify sources before sharing sensitive security information. The debunking comes amid heightened tensions along the Line of Actual Control, but the authorities reaffirmed that the border remains secure.
