India Post has commenced drone‑based parcel delivery in Assam and Himachal Pradesh in partnership with Skye Air Mobility.
India Post has begun drone delivery operations in the northeastern state of Assam and the mountainous region of Himachal Pradesh, marking a milestone in the postal service’s expansion of modern logistics.
The initiative is a joint effort with Skye Air Mobility, a company that specialises in commercial drone operations. The partnership will deploy a fleet of drones capable of transporting parcels across challenging terrain.
The service is designed to speed up deliveries to remote and hard‑to‑reach areas, improving access for residents and businesses that previously faced long wait times for postal services.
This launch is part of India Post’s broader strategy to digitise its operations and enhance connectivity in rural and underserved regions.
