Delegates from India and Hungary met to explore bilateral trade and investment prospects in the electronics and pharmaceutical sectors.
New Delhi – Officials from India and Hungary convened to examine ways to deepen economic ties, focusing on the electronics and pharmaceutical industries. The talks, held under the auspices of the respective ministries of trade and industry, aimed at identifying areas where joint ventures, technology transfer and investment could be mutually beneficial.
Both sides highlighted the complementary strengths of their economies: India's large manufacturing base and growing pharma market, and Hungary's advanced engineering capabilities and access to European markets. Participants exchanged information on regulatory frameworks, potential incentives and avenues for collaboration with private sector players.
While no specific agreements were signed, the delegations agreed to set up a working group to draft detailed proposals and to organize follow‑up meetings within the next few months. The initiative reflects a broader effort by both governments to diversify trade partners and to tap into emerging opportunities in high‑tech and health sectors.
Analysts view the dialogue as a positive step toward expanding Indo‑European trade, noting that enhanced cooperation could boost exports, create jobs and foster innovation in both countries.
