India and China have agreed to set up a direct military communication link in the border state of Arunachal Pradesh to facilitate real‑time dialogue.

New Delhi and Beijing have announced the creation of a direct military communication channel in Arunachal Pradesh, a state that shares a long and sensitive border with China. The channel is intended to enable immediate contact between the two armies, aiming to reduce the risk of misunderstandings during routine patrols and incidents along the Line of Actual Control.

Both sides described the move as a confidence‑building measure that complements existing diplomatic engagements. Military officials from each country are expected to operate the link from their respective headquarters in the region, ensuring that information can be exchanged swiftly when required.

The establishment of the channel reflects a continued effort by India and China to manage border tensions through practical mechanisms, even as broader strategic discussions remain ongoing.
