The India Meteorological Department has issued a forecast of heavy rain for the states of Bihar, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) released a weather outlook indicating that heavy rainfall is expected across four states – Bihar, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu – over the coming days. Meteorologists attribute the anticipated downpours to a series of low-pressure systems moving eastward across the subcontinent, bringing moisture-laden winds from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.

In Bihar, the forecast calls for intense showers that could lead to localized flooding, especially in low-lying districts. Karnataka's coastal and interior regions are also warned of sudden deluges that may disrupt traffic and agricultural activities. Himachal Pradesh, despite its mountainous terrain, may experience heavy rain that could trigger landslides in vulnerable valleys. In Jammu, the rains are expected to be concentrated in the plains, raising concerns about waterlogging.

The IMD has advised state authorities to activate disaster response mechanisms, issue timely alerts to the public, and ensure that drainage systems are cleared. Residents are urged to stay informed through official channels, avoid unnecessary travel during peak rainfall periods, and take precautionary measures to protect property and life.

These forecasts come as part of the department’s routine seasonal monitoring and are subject to updates as new data become available.
