IIT Kanpur to Upskill 900 Uttar Pradesh Teachers in Digital Competence

The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur has announced a program to provide digital skills training to 900 school teachers from Uttar Pradesh.
IIT Kanpur has launched a specialised training initiative aimed at enhancing the digital proficiency of school teachers across Uttar Pradesh. The programme, announced by the institute’s director, will cover a range of competencies including online pedagogy, educational software usage, and data‑driven classroom management.
A total of 900 teachers, selected from government and aided schools in the state, will attend a series of workshops and hands‑on sessions over the coming months. The curriculum has been designed in consultation with the Uttar Pradesh Education Department to align with the state’s push for technology‑enabled learning.
Officials expect the training to accelerate the integration of digital tools in classrooms, improve student engagement, and equip teachers to deliver the revised curriculum that increasingly relies on e‑learning resources. Completion certificates will be awarded to participants who successfully finish the modules.
