ICC says Nitish poised for all-round role at 2027 Cricket World Cup

The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that Indian all‑rounder Nitish is ready to assume a broader role as the 2027 Cricket World Cup approaches. The statement, released by the ICC, highlighted Nitish's readiness to contribute with both bat and ball, as well as in the field, underscoring his importance to India's campaign. While details of his specific responsibilities were not disclosed, the governing body emphasized that his versatility will be a key asset for the team. The announcement comes as preparations intensify for the tournament scheduled to be hosted in the southern hemisphere, with teams finalising squads and strategies. Nitish's elevated role is expected to add depth to India's lineup and provide flexibility in match situations.

The ICC's endorsement reflects confidence in Nitish's skill set and his recent performances in international fixtures. Analysts note that an all‑rounder who can adapt to varying conditions is valuable in a World Cup setting, where match dynamics can shift rapidly. Nitish's inclusion in a more expansive capacity signals a strategic move by the Indian side to leverage his dual capabilities.

As the countdown to CWC27 continues, fans and pundits will watch closely to see how Nitish integrates his expanded duties into the team's overall game plan. The ICC will monitor his progress as the tournament draws nearer, ensuring that the player remains fit and ready for the challenges ahead.
