The Indian Air Force has airlifted a patient from Leh to Delhi for emergency medical treatment, using a helicopter to transport the patient to a tertiary care hospital in the capital.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) responded to an emergency call from the medical authorities in Leh, Ladakh, and dispatched a helicopter to transport a critically ill patient to Delhi. The patient, whose identity has not been disclosed, was transferred to a tertiary care hospital in the capital for specialized treatment.
Leh, situated at an altitude of over 3,500 meters, has limited medical facilities for complex emergencies. The IAF’s swift response ensured that the patient received timely care at a facility equipped with advanced medical technology.
The operation was carried out by the IAF’s medical wing, which has a dedicated fleet for patient evacuation missions. The helicopter flew a direct route, covering the approximately 1,200-kilometer distance in a few hours.
The patient is currently under treatment in Delhi, and authorities have confirmed that the transfer was completed without complications.
