New Zealand’s Hope and Rutherford claimed key wickets of Indian bowlers while India pursued a target of 250 runs.
In the ongoing limited‑overs encounter, New Zealand’s opening pair of Hope and Rutherford made significant inroads by dismissing several Indian bowlers who were at the crease. Their breakthroughs came at a crucial juncture as India attempted to chase down a modest total of 250 runs.
The wickets taken by the New Zealand duo put pressure on the Indian batting line‑up, forcing the visitors to rebuild after the loss of their lower‑order bowlers turned batsmen. Despite the setbacks, India continued to rotate the strike, aiming to keep the required run rate within reach.
The match, played under clear skies, remains finely balanced with India still needing a steady partnership to bridge the remaining runs. Both sides are expected to intensify their strategies as the game progresses toward its conclusion.
