Union Home Minister Amit Shah officially opened a new Rs 400 crore super‑speciality hospital in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, aiming to boost advanced medical care in the region.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated a state‑of‑the‑art super‑speciality hospital in Raipur, marking a significant addition to Chhattisgarh’s healthcare infrastructure. The facility, built at an estimated cost of Rs 400 crore, is equipped with advanced diagnostic equipment, operation theatres, and intensive care units designed to cater to a wide range of medical specialties.
The hospital will house multiple specialty departments, including cardiology, neurology, oncology, and orthopaedics, and is expected to serve both urban and rural populations from across the state. With a capacity of several hundred beds, the centre aims to reduce the need for patients to travel to metropolitan cities for tertiary care.
During the ceremony, Shah highlighted the government’s commitment to expanding high‑quality medical services in tier‑2 cities, noting that such projects are part of a broader effort to improve health outcomes nationwide. Officials indicated that the hospital will become operational in phases, with full services slated to commence within the next few months.
