Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced that the recruitment of teachers for CBSE‑affiliated schools in Himachal Pradesh will be completed by 30 September.

Shimla, Himachal Pradesh – Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu told the media that the state government aims to finish the hiring process for teachers in all Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools by 30 September. The announcement came during a press briefing on the progress of the ongoing recruitment drive, which began earlier this year to fill vacancies across primary and secondary levels.

The CM emphasized that the accelerated timeline is intended to address acute teacher shortages that have affected student‑teacher ratios in many districts. He urged the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission and the education department to expedite examinations, document verification and final appointments.

Officials said that applications have been received from thousands of qualified candidates, and the selection process will follow the standard merit‑based criteria. Completion of the recruitment before the start of the new academic session is expected to stabilise staffing and improve learning outcomes.

Sukhu also highlighted that the government will monitor the deployment of newly appointed teachers to ensure that every CBSE‑affiliated school in the state is adequately staffed before the September deadline.
