24‑hour heavy rainfall in Mandla has pushed the Narmada River above danger level, submerging the small Rapta bridge and several other crossings, prompting authorities to issue an alert and deploy security forces.
For the past 24 hours, Mandla has been hit by relentless rainfall, causing the Narmada River to swell beyond its danger level. The sudden rise in water has submerged the small Rapta bridge and several other nearby crossings, leaving local residents stranded.
The flooding has also affected nearby temples, which are now underwater, and has disrupted daily commutes for the town’s inhabitants. Residents have reported difficulty accessing essential services due to the inundated roads.
In response, local authorities have issued a flood alert and set up barricades along vulnerable stretches of the river. Police, Home Guard, and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been deployed to assist with evacuation and to secure the affected areas.
