Heavy rain swept Dehradun today, leaving 97 roads impassable and prompting the closure of all schools.
Heavy rainfall battered Dehradun early this morning, causing widespread waterlogging across the city. Meteorological officials reported that the downpour intensified after midnight, turning several streets into temporary streams.
City authorities confirmed that 97 roads remain blocked as floodwaters have not yet receded. Emergency crews are working to clear debris and restore traffic flow, but many routes are still unsafe for commuters.
In response to the weather emergency, the education department ordered the closure of all schools in Dehradun for the day. Parents were advised to keep children at home until conditions improve and official notices are issued.
