The state weather department has warned of heavy showers in seven districts of Madhya Pradesh on Friday, with rainfall potentially reaching four inches.
The monsoon trough continues to influence Madhya Pradesh, keeping the state under a persistent rain spell. To date, the region has recorded 26.5 inches of precipitation, which is 2.7 inches below the long‑term average for this period.
On Friday, the state’s meteorological office issued a heavy‑rain warning for seven districts, forecasting accumulations of up to four inches. Residents in the affected areas have been advised to stay alert, avoid low‑lying roads, and take precautions against possible waterlogging.
Despite the alert, 37 districts across the state remain in a deficit, still grappling with insufficient rainfall. The shortfall is expected to affect agricultural sowing schedules and could strain water supplies in the coming weeks.
