The Madhya Pradesh health department raided a clinic and a pathology laboratory in Seoni, uncovered multiple regulatory lapses and sealed both establishments.
The health department of Madhya Pradesh carried out surprise inspections at two private health facilities in Seoni – a general clinic and a pathology laboratory. Officials entered the premises with a team of inspectors and seized relevant documents for verification.
Preliminary checks revealed several non‑compliance issues, including lack of mandatory licenses, inadequate sanitation standards and insufficient qualified personnel as required under state health regulations. The inspectors noted that the facilities were operating without meeting basic safety protocols.
Following the findings, the department ordered the immediate sealing of both the clinic and the lab, prohibiting any further patient services until corrective measures are implemented and the necessary approvals are obtained. The action aims to protect public health and enforce compliance across the state's medical sector.
A senior health officer said the raid was part of a broader crackdown on unregistered and sub‑standard health providers in the region. Authorities have warned that similar operations will continue until all private health establishments meet statutory requirements.
