The Haryana government has fixed a floor price of Rs 2,900 per quintal for bajra and will offer free pesticide testing for all agricultural produce.
The state government of Haryana announced a guaranteed minimum price of Rs 2,900 per quintal for bajra, aiming to protect farmers from market volatility. The price ceiling is part of the state's broader effort to stabilize incomes for millet growers.
In a parallel move, Haryana will provide free pesticide residue testing for all produce cultivated within the state. The service is intended to assure consumers of food safety and help farmers meet quality standards for domestic and export markets.
Both initiatives were disclosed in a press release by the Haryana Agriculture Department, which emphasized that the measures will be implemented immediately and monitored through existing agricultural extension networks.
