The cabinet has approved a plan to redevelop the Sanjivani sugar factory, aiming to boost production and modernise facilities.
The cabinet gave its nod to a redevelopment project for the Sanjivani sugar factory during a recent meeting. The approval is intended to upgrade ageing equipment, introduce newer processing technologies and improve overall efficiency.
Officials said the revamp will help the plant meet rising demand for sugar and related by‑products while adhering to environmental standards. The modernization is also expected to create additional employment opportunities in the surrounding region.
The redevelopment plan will be implemented in phases, with the first stage focusing on core crushing and refining units. Stakeholders have been asked to submit detailed project proposals within the stipulated timeline.
The move reflects the government's broader effort to strengthen the agro‑industrial sector and enhance the competitiveness of Indian sugar producers on the global market.
