In a sweeping crackdown, Haryana police detained 900 alleged criminals under Operation Trackdown, targeting organized crime networks across the state.

The Haryana Police Department announced that it has arrested 900 individuals linked to various criminal syndicates in a coordinated operation known as Operation Trackdown. The arrests were carried out across multiple districts, with officers citing intelligence reports that highlighted the suspects’ involvement in drug trafficking, extortion, and money laundering.

The operation, which began earlier this month, involved joint efforts from the state’s Anti-Crime Squad, the Central Bureau of Investigation, and local law enforcement units. Police officials stated that the crackdown was part of a broader initiative to dismantle criminal networks that have long operated with relative impunity.

According to the police, the 900 detainees will be processed through the state’s judicial system, with several cases already in motion. Authorities emphasized that the operation was a success in curbing illicit activities and restoring public safety.

The Haryana government has pledged to continue such operations to maintain law and order, while also focusing on rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders who are deemed fit for community service.
