The Haryana High Court on Thursday nullified the Haryana Public Service Commission's (HPSC) newly introduced NET qualification cut‑off. The cut‑off had stipulated that only candidates who cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) in Haryana could be considered for reserved category posts, effectively excluding aspirants from other states.
The court ruled that the restriction violated the principle of equal opportunity and was discriminatory against reserved candidates residing outside Haryana. It directed the HPSC to revert to the earlier, non‑discriminatory eligibility criteria for all upcoming recruitment cycles.
