The Haryana government has approved a ₹9,700 crore investment to develop bypass roads in five cities, aiming to ease traffic congestion and improve regional connectivity.

The Haryana government today approved a ₹9,700 crore investment for the construction of bypass roads in five of its cities. The decision was taken by the state cabinet during a meeting held in Chandigarh.

The projects, which will span across five urban centres, are part of the state's broader infrastructure development plan. The total cost of ₹9,700 crore is earmarked for land acquisition, construction and related works.

Officials say the new bypasses will divert heavy traffic away from city centres, reducing congestion and improving travel times for commuters and freight operators.

Work is expected to begin in the coming months, with the state’s road development department outlining a phased implementation schedule and timelines for completion.
