Farmers in Haryana have expressed discontent over a modest increase in sugarcane prices and have warned that protests could erupt from 12 November.
Farmers across Haryana have voiced strong dissatisfaction with the recent price hike for sugarcane, deeming the increase as insufficient to cover their costs.
The aggrieved growers have issued a warning that a large-scale protest could commence on 12 November if the government does not revisit the pricing structure.
The agitation is centered on the perception that the new rates fail to compensate for rising input costs and market fluctuations, potentially jeopardizing farmers’ livelihoods.
The farmers’ association has called for a meeting with state officials to discuss a more equitable price revision before the planned stir.
The issue has drawn attention to the broader debate over fair compensation for agricultural produce in the region.
