Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has successfully completed a test flight of its fully indigenous advanced light trainer combat aircraft at its Bangalore facility.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Bangalore has completed a successful test flight of a new advanced light trainer combat aircraft that has been developed entirely in India. The flight marked the first practical demonstration of the aircraft’s capabilities after years of design and development by HAL engineers.

The aircraft, described as a light combat trainer, is intended to serve both training and light combat roles for the Indian Air Force. HAL officials said the test flight met all performance parameters and demonstrated the aircraft’s agility, speed and avionics systems.

The successful flight underscores India’s push for self‑reliance in defence technology and could pave the way for future production and induction into the armed forces. HAL plans to conduct further trials before seeking formal clearance for series production.
