As Gujarat gears up for its upcoming local body elections, a substantial 730 seats have already been decided without a contest. This means candidates for these specific positions have been elected unopposed, bypassing the need for voting.
The declaration of these uncontested seats indicates a significant portion of the local representation will be filled prior to the main electoral process. Further details on the specific districts or types of local bodies affected were not immediately available.
This development sets the stage for the remaining electoral contests, where voters will cast their ballots to elect representatives for the seats that remain contested. The overall election process is a key event for local governance in the state.
