Gujarat Government Sanctions ₹28.68 Crore Projects to Promote Spiritual and Heritage Tourism

The state government of Gujarat announced that it has cleared a series of projects totaling ₹28.68 crore to enhance the state's spiritual and heritage tourism offerings. The allocated funds will be used to upgrade facilities at major pilgrimage centres, restore historic monuments, and build supporting amenities such as visitor centres, improved roads and sanitation infrastructure. Officials said the initiative is expected to attract more domestic and international tourists, generate employment and increase revenue for local economies. The projects are slated for phased implementation over the coming years under the supervision of the tourism department, with periodic reviews to ensure timely completion.
