Governor KT Parnaik told the Eastern Mirror that NITI Aayog could play a transformative role in the development of Arunachal Pradesh.
Governor K.T. Parnaik, the constitutional head of Arunachal Pradesh, said in an interview with the Eastern Mirror that the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog can serve as a catalyst for the state’s socio‑economic progress. He highlighted the need for a coordinated approach that leverages the agency’s policy‑making expertise and its ability to mobilise central resources.
NITI Aayog, established in 2015, functions as a think‑tank and advisory body to the central government, focusing on cooperative federalism and regional development. Parnaik noted that its involvement could help address infrastructure gaps, improve connectivity, and promote sustainable livelihoods in the remote hill districts of Arunachal Pradesh.
The governor urged both state officials and central ministries to engage proactively with NITI Aayog, emphasizing that a shared vision and clear implementation roadmap are essential for translating policy recommendations into tangible outcomes for the people of the state.
