The Meghalaya government told the Khasi Students' Union that all planned facilitation centres will be up and running by the end of December.

New Delhi – In a recent meeting with representatives of the Khasi Students' Union (KSU), the Meghalaya state government pledged to have all proposed facilitation centres functional by December. The centres are intended to streamline access to government schemes, skill‑training programs and employment services for youth across the state.

Officials said the project, which was announced earlier this year, is now in its final implementation phase. Infrastructure work, staffing and digital platforms are being fast‑tracked to meet the December deadline.

The government emphasized that the centres will serve as one‑stop points for applicants, reducing bureaucratic delays and improving outreach in remote districts. KSU leaders welcomed the commitment, urging timely execution to benefit students and job‑seekers.

If the timeline is met, the facilitation centres could significantly boost participation in state‑run skill development initiatives and improve employment outcomes for Meghalaya's young population.

The administration will monitor progress through weekly reviews and has promised regular updates to KSU and the public.
